Project Management Basics

March 2013

What do I do if I have an idea for a project?

I HAVE AN IDEA THAT MAY BE A PROJECT, WHAT SHOULD I DO?
1)      Review the project quick reference guide. This guide is the starting point for understanding the basics of the project process at High Plains.
2)      Work with a manager, supervisor or librarian to first determine if your idea should be managed as a project. If it is determined the project process should be applied (i.e. sounds like a project) proceed to step 3, otherwise, proceed with the work locally.
3)      As noted in quick reference guide, look at the questions on the 'I have an Idea' form, gather the needed information and then submit your idea.
